                                          GROUP CLASSES 



    

Pilates is a floor-work class performed on a special raised mat. This series of challenging exercises was created by Joseph Pilates in order to gain muscle control, correct improper breathing habits, and strengthen the entire body. In this class we emphasize spinal flexibility as we perform intensive work focusing on the abdominal and back muscles.

 

Tower Class incorporates the use of specialized PILATES equipment called the "Tower" to gain musculo-skeletal control, strength and flexibility. Exercises are performed using a combination of springs, bars and straps to create additional resistance and/or assistance through the traditional PILATES exercise repertoire. 

 

 

Mat with Toys is a traditional PILATES class utilizing props such as the magic circle, foam rollers, arc barrels, bands and balls. (We call them toys!) Besides focusing on spinal alignment, we will pay particular attention to both the shoulder and pelvic girdles in order to gain core strength, postural awareness and better overall movement habits. This class is especially beneficial for students new to PILATES.   

  CORE is a PILATES-themed class that uses a combination of your own body weight and free weights to actively strengthen and lengthen your deepest torso muscles. Integrating an awaremess of the spine with every movement, this class creates strong abdominals and back muscles, sculpted arms and shoulders, and a more flexible lower body.

                       PRIVATE CLASSES ARE BY APPOINTMENT

A one-on-one lesson utilizing the PILATES machines as well as incorporating mat work into the session. Private classes are perfect for those students who wish to have 100% of an instructor's attention. Private classes are also recommended for students with special physical needs or limitations.

It is highly recommended that all new students take at least one private lesson whether you are brand new to PILATES or have previous experience because it will help us to evaluate your personal needs and abilities in order to direct you to the classes that will best support your individual fitness goals.

 

                  DUET AND TRIO CLASSES ARE BY APPOINTMENT

Two or three students sharing one teacher, utilizing all of the PILATES machines as well as incorporating mat work into the session. Duet or Trio classes are perfect for two or three individuals with similar fitness levels. (When making a Duet or Trio appointment, you must book with your partner(s) in mind.) If you do not have a partner, we will do our best to help you find one. 

 

Appointments for Private, Duet  or Trio classes may be made any time that group classes do not appear on the schedule. Please consult the group class schedule for available times.
